In November of 2024, Board Member Luis Rodriguez, along with his dog, Luna, were killed in a car accident. The tragedy was senseless and for the past year there have been countless reminders of how much we miss him and all the good works he assisted with.
Luis was a “hands on” guy and he was here at the ranch weekly. His eyes were on the progress we were planning and executing, but his heart was on the horses - specifically delivering a 25 lb. bag of carrots to them every Wednesday.
To honor Luis, and all that he meant to us, we have chosen to set up the “Carrot Fund”. At its most basic level, the Carrot Fund will deliver that weekly treat to the horses - every Wednesday. But as the fund develops we anticipate it being the seed money needed for projects like a covered arena and, eventually, a facility expansion. $15 makes you a part of this community - a community that will commit to the ongoing work to which this man was dedicated.
